Designing inside a heart
A heart is wide at the top lobes, narrow at the bottom point, with a dip at the top centre — three traps for the unwary:
- Stack text vertically. The classic layout is three short lines — "BEST / MOM / EVER" — the middle line largest, sitting in the heart's widest band.
- Mind the top dip. Don't centre anything tall at the very top — it lands in the notch. Put accents on the lobes (left/right of centre) instead.
- Keep the bottom point clear. Nothing important in the lower third's corners — the shape tapers fast.
- Faces work beautifully — position the face in the upper-middle and let the heart crop do the framing.
