Save Your Badge Projects: Project Files & Cloud Storage

A badge project is real work — the photo positioned just right, colours tuned, curved text aligned. The studio gives you two ways to keep that work: downloadable .mbs project files, and cloud saves in your account that reopen on any device.
Option 1 — Project files (.mbs)
The Save icon in the studio downloads your whole project — images, layout, text, stickers, settings — as a single .mbs file. The Open icon loads it back. Great for archiving finished client jobs or moving a project between computers by hand. Available on Creator and above.
Option 2 — Cloud projects (Business Plus & Pro)
The cloud icon next to Save stores the project in your account:
- Tap the cloud icon, give the project a name, save.
- Find it on your Account page under My Projects — with a preview thumbnail, date, and badge count.
- Open continues exactly where you left off — on any device you log into. Delete frees the slot.
- Business Plus: 25 saved projects
- Business Pro: 50 saved projects
Workflow that works: keep repeat clients as cloud projects ("Sharma School — sports day", "Café Blue — staff badges"). Next order, open the project, swap the names, print. Two minutes instead of twenty.
Which should you use?
- Cloud for active and repeat work — fastest to reopen, works across devices.
- .mbs files for long-term archives and backups beyond your slot limit.
- Both together: cloud for the working copy, an .mbs download when the job's done.
See plan details on the pricing page — cloud project storage is listed on the Business Plus and Business Pro cards.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I save a badge project to my account?
In the studio, tap the cloud icon in the toolbar, name the project and save. It appears on your Account page under My Projects with a thumbnail — Open resumes it on any device, Delete frees the slot. Available on Business Plus (25 projects) and Business Pro (50).
What's the difference between .mbs files and cloud projects?
An .mbs file is a downloadable copy of the project you store yourself (Creator plan and above). Cloud projects are stored in your account and reopen anywhere you log in (Business Plus/Pro). Use cloud for active work, .mbs for archives.
What happens to my saved projects if I downgrade?
Your existing cloud projects remain visible on your Account page — you can still open and delete them. Saving new ones requires Business Plus or Pro.
